Slow cooked local beef seared and then slowly cooked in a Mondeuse red wine sauce and topped with a confit of carrot, mushrooms and shallots. It is served with basmati rice and peas and is absolutely delicious. A crowd pleaser and one of our best sellers.

As all our Savoyard range, the Beef Mondeuse uses only locally sourced ingredients and is freshly made in the Savoie Tarentaise Valley by Chalet Chef. It will arrive frozen.

Ingredients

Beef mondeuse (Serves 2): onion, garlic, beef, sunflower oil, mondeuse red wine, leek, thyme, bay leaf, beef stock (maltodextrin, salt, [celery], carrot, black pepper, beef extract), carrot, mushroom, shallot, water, salt, pepper, crème fraîche([pasteurised cream], [lactic cultures]), patrelle (caramel colour e150b ([sulphites]), water, corn starch, tomato)

Basmati rice and peas (Serves 2): basmati rice, petit pois, salt

Cooking Instructions

Beef mondeuse (Serves 2):
COOK FROM FROZEN
OVEN: Preheat oven. Remove sleeve and film. Place on baking tray in the centre of the oven.
OVEN SETTINGS: Fan 170°C , Electric 190°C , Gas Mark 5. 50 mins. Allow to stand for 5 mins. Ensure the food is piping hot before serving.
MICROWAVE: Remove sleeve and pierce film. Place on microwavable plate. Cook on full power. 850W. 5 mins > stir well & re-cover > 5 mins. Allow to stand for 3 mins. Ensure the food is piping hot and stir well before serving.

Basmati rice and peas (Serves 2):
OVEN: Preheat oven. Remove film wrap. Place on baking tray in the centre of the oven.
OVEN SETTINGS: Fan 170°C , Electric 190°C , Gas Mark 5. 30 mins. Allow to stand for 5 mins. Ensure the food is piping hot, stir well before serving.
MICROWAVE: Remove film wrap. Place on microwavable plate. Cook on full power. 850W.
3 mins > stir well & re-cover > 3 mins. Allow to stand for 2 mins. Ensure the food is piping hot and stir well before serving.
