It’s 5 a.m. and the first Huski delivery vehicles are leaving the Bourg Saint Maurice kitchens. The piste bashers are still at work high up in La Rosière, Les Arcs, La Plagne: the resorts towering over Huski HQ. Most people are asleep. Powder junkies still dreaming of fresh lines. There was a sprinkling of snow during the night; light cloud hangs in the valley; the moon sinks beneath Mt Pourri. It’s going to be a sunny day once the sun rises.
Huski 1 turns left and heads down towards Moutiers and the 3 Valleys for a delivery: Courchevel, Meribel, St Martin de Belleville and finally Val Thorens, all before the first lifts open. Van 2 makes in the opposite direction, heading up to Tignes, Val d’Isére and Sainte Foy. Driver 3 has the longest drive of all: there are deliveries to be made, tartiflette to deliver in the Portes du Soleil; Avoriaz, Morzine, Châtel and Megève.
“It isn’t where you came from it’s where you’re going that counts.” – Ella Fitzgerald
Which ski resorts do Huski Deliver to?
The French Alps stretch 750 miles from Nice to Vienna and cut across 7 countries. Wars have been fought and lost, civilisations have crumbled, empires built and destroyed within its solid alpine walls. So we narrowed it down to France. It’s where we all learnt to ski and snowboard, and since our HQ was slap bang in the middle of it, it made a lot of sense. We’ll conquer Austria, Switzerland and Italy at a later date.
When you have 72 tartiflette to deliver in any one day, even the scale of the French part is a logistical behemoth. But we couldn’t narrow it down beyond France, so we threw caution to the wind, remembered the map is not necessarily the territory, and set down the delivery philosophy of Huski.
Let’s deliver TO EVERY SKI RESORT IN THE FRENCH ALPS.
You read that right folks, food delivery to every ski resort in the Alps. From Alpe d’Huez, Vaujany, Les 2 Alpes, Les Orres and station d’Auris in the far south to the small and beautiful resorts of the north: Le grand Bornand, St Jean d’Aulps and the cheesy Abondance and all of the Mega resorts in between. Tignes, Meribel, Chamonix, Val d’Isére, Courchevel. If you can find a resort, we will deliver your food there. And between you and me, it doesn’t really even need to be a resort, it just needs a road. And thanks to Elon Musk we will have drones before you know it, so it won’t even need a road soon. Just an oven.
So we invite you to discover our most popular resorts where you can have your self-catering food delivered without taking off your skis, undoing those clunky ski boots or getting off the table, if that is where you are dancing at your favourite après ski.
